On Feb. 9, Qatar’s Al Arab and Egypt’s Al Masry Al Youm published opeds I wrote from Israel.
Both pieces focus on Dr. Izzeldine Abouelaish, the Palestinian doctor who lost three daughters when Israel shelled their home in Gaza two days before the end of the ceasefire.
I am pleasantly surprised that the papers published articles by an Egyptian saying she went to Israel! I have been a columnist for Al Arab since Nov. 2007 and for Al Masry for about six months now.
Reader reaction, as I expected is quite nasty, but it is nevertheless significant that they published my pieces.
