On CNN on Sunday, I explained that Egyptians were taking care of the revolution themselves and didn’t need anyone’s help but that the international community should offer moral support and on a second appearance I highlighted the peaceful nature of the protests to overthrow the Hosni Mubarak regime.

Mona –
Saw you many times on CNN over the weekend and appreciate your passion! Can you help educate us? I have a bunch of questions and maybe they are shared by others:
In the US, individual liberties are protected from popular vote. Is there any kind of tradition or mindset for this in the Middle East / Arab world / Egypt?
Are you worried about what replaces the current regime? Could it be worse? If it is Sharia, will it be secular, blended, or traditional?
I heard on CNN this morning that 70% of Egyptians don’t support the 1979 peace treaty with Israel? Do you believe this is correct?
Thanks in advance!

They certainly DO need help, or they soon will. I recommend lots of prayer. As to the help of the international community, well, such help might be nice to have, but there is always a price to pay whether it is to mercenaries or to political allies… which are just another kind of mercenary.
Choose your allies wisely, new Pharaoh!

the looters are the police – a mubarak(et al?) tactic – to divert from the revolution.

Assalamu Alaikum:
Just wanted to say that you’ve totally rocked on CNN. The Egyptians don’t need anybody to “rescue” them. This is Egyptian-led…and Egyptians have the answer. Wonder if you’re willing to broach the subject of Mubarak (pere et fils) considerable fortune on one of your discussions. Rumored to be in the Billions–all stolen from the Egyptian people. Peace.

Hi Mona,
My name is Mohamed and I am an Egyptian American. I follow your blog and I was wondering if you could help spread this petition. I am not internet savvy, and I’m no writer, but whatever I can offer for my people, I will offer. Please help me spread this petition/letter I have written to Obama. My goal is to get 10,000 signatures before I send the letter to the White House.

The people of Egypt have spoken, and they deserve no less than self-determination. That means the virus has to be eradicated once of all starting with Mubarak and all the way to his MAFIA Gangs including his SOB too. No more revolving door changes, the people of Egypt should decide their own future. Egypt doesn’t need a feather cleaning, but rather, a full clean house.
Let me tell you something Sister Mona, I really believe that two great women have started this revolution that is unfolding before our eyes, YOU in North America, and Asma Mahfouz in Egypt. Your voice in North America means so much not only for the Egyptian people, but for all the Arab World.
I’ve been following you and watching you with passion. Take a look, I am retweeting your feeds everywhere: http://twitter.com/tahrirsquare11 and on this Moroccan site as well: http://www.bergag.net – I hope you don’t mind. As for Asma, I watch her video almost everyday, she has brought tears in my eyes, it is so moving indeed. In fact, I dedicated a website just for Asma. Take a look and make sure to turn your speaker on: http://www.AsmaMahfouz.com – I am dedicating this great song called “Nothing But Love!” to all Brothers & Sisters who are fighting for their freedom, their lives & their dignity; and believe it or not, they are fighting for our freedom too across the rest of the Arab World. Look how the rest of the Gangs are reacting now, almost everyone is confirming that they will not run for another term and neither their corrupt Sons. This is a great start indeed, I honestly never dreamed of seeing this change in my lifetime..
Malcolm X (rahimaho Allah – peace upon him) once said, “The time will come when that sheet will be tipped off. If the Government doesn’t take it off, we’ll take it off !! ” That is what’s happening right now..
I also started another site similar to AsmaMahfouz.com called, you guessed right: http://www.TahrirSquare.net
I know I can’t be in Egypt and fight with the Egyptian people now, but I will do everything in my power to spread the word of Freedom. The least we can do for them is the give them a Moral support & hope. We should not let these atrocities go in vein. Nothing in this earth can stop the collective will of man & woman, no force of evil can withstand the harmony of a peoples’ revolution. The Arab World has finally spoken and we will be heard.
While some people are so eager to buy luxury Realestate, I decided to buy a piece of Realestate called TahrirSquare.net that reflects a true meaning of history, and most of all, it reflects how Freedom was actually born in the Arab World. It is a history that I will pass on to my children indeed.
Lastly, fyi – I am not an Egyptian, and I am not an American, I am a Moroccan/American Citizen who loves peace & dignity for all human kind no matter who you are..
Please note, anyone who is interested to write for TahrirSquare.net please let me know, I will be happy to give you access to the site.
I can be reached at: TahrirSquare.net@gmail.com
Salam & Peace!

Three evils I seek refuge of God to save Egypt from them
1-The main engine of this revolution was middle class educated youth. Now you have to remember that the poor and illiterate people have right to vote as well. ( religion, money)
2-I hope that Egyptians will focus only on their country and they will not engage in side conflicts in the soon future at least.
3-I wish that your Americans friends will stay far from democratic process in Egypt especially after upnormal talent they showed in Iraq
Salam Mona
